Paris Photo runs from 12 to 15 November 2026, with digital art taking centre stage in the fair’s dedicated sector. This collector’s guide highlights five artists to discover: why they matter now and how to follow their work, whether you’re attending the fair or watching from afar.
1. Alejandro Cartagena | View Artist Profile

A Dominican-born, Mexico-based photographer examining suburban expansion, labor, and migration issues in his body of work.
His practice uses photography and video to explore identity, place, and the social and environmental effects of rapid suburban growth and migration. Cartagena is best known for his acclaimed series and photobook Carpoolers (2011–12), photographed from a pedestrian overpass above Highway 85 and depicting construction workers commuting to Monterrey in the open beds of pickup trucks directly from above.

2. Alkan Avcioglu | View Artist Profile

A Turkish multidisciplinary artist and 'AI post-photography' pioneer whose background in film and media theory shapes his exploration of synthetic imagery.
Based on the outskirts of Istanbul, Avcioglu draws on his background in narratology and visual storytelling to build bodies of work that read as speculative documentary: images and video that look like photographs of real events, objects, or places but are entirely machine-generated. Series such as 'Videodrome,' 'Simulacra,' and 'Manufactured Transcendence' explore themes of surveillance, media spectacle, and the erosion of a stable, verifiable reality in an image culture increasingly shaped by algorithms. His work has been exhibited and sold in major art-world contexts including Art Basel, Paris Photo, and Christie's.

5. Summer Wagner | View Artist Profile

Los-Angeles-based photographer and video storyteller making cinematic, narrative image series
Wagner stages quiet, dreamlike scenes with family, friends and herself across the American landscape, at a moment when images arrive faster than we can believe them. The works ask what it still means to make a photograph, and to stay still long enough to be truly seen. Her images use desaturated colour, strong contrast and shallow depth of field, with symbolic details throughout. She describes her work as realism with a dash of surrealism. Some projects start from a fully written story, others from casual shooting in which stories emerge, and she also builds narratives in the edit by pairing images taken at different times.
