DISCOVER · ANA MARÍA CABALLERO
Poetry, Performance & Collective Creation

‍

Poet and artist Ana María Caballero works where language, performance and digital form meet. For this live encounter, she invites us into her practice not only to observe it, but to take part in it.

Ahead of the session, participants will receive a short poem from her new book, Material, and will be invited to respond with a single word. Ana María will use all of our words to create a new digital paper sculpture, which she will reveal during the session while walking us through the process behind it.

During our encounter, she will also read and perform selected works, and we'll repeat the experiment together live: a new poem, followed by a new set of one-word responses. Ana María will take these words with her and, through her iterative process, turn them into a second digital paper sculpture. About a week later, the finished work will be shared with participants as a postcard from our time together.

Part studio visit, part poetry reading, part performance and part collective experiment, this is a chance to experience an artist's process by becoming part of it. The session closes with a live Q&A, giving members the chance to put their questions to Ana María directly. A recording will be available to members afterwards.

Most people experience an artist's process from the outside. With Ana María Caballero, members become part of it. Ahead of the session and live together, participants respond to her poems with a single word, which she transforms into new digital paper sculptures, revealed during the session and shared afterwards as a memento.

The session closes with a live Q&A, giving members the chance to put their questions to Ana María directly. A recording will be available to members afterwards.

Conversations like this one take place throughout the year for 100 collectors members, online and wherever you are.
