A pseudonymous Swiss digital artist and developer who turns smart contracts and blockchain protocols into the material and subject of conceptual art.
0xfff, also known by the handle @0xShiroi and identified in some public sources as Sabrina Cerea, is a pseudonymous digital artist and developer who treats blockchain infrastructure itself as a creative medium. Rather than using smart contracts purely as a distribution mechanism for finished artworks, 0xfff builds contracts, protocols, and interactive systems that turn ownership, transfer, and even geographic or on-chain location into the subject of the work, positioning the practice at the intersection of conceptual art, software engineering, and web-based interaction design. Based between Lugano and Zurich, Switzerland, 0xfff has also worked as part of a graphic and interaction design studio alongside collaborator Leonardo Angelucci (0x000), applying a code-first design sensibility to both commercial and artistic projects. The piece 'You Are Here' uses Ethereum Virtual Machine chain identifiers to root a digital work in a specific network location, exploring how decentralization can be made to feel physical and situated rather than abstract. In 'ABO', a collaboration with generative artist Leander Herzog, 0xfff engineered custom time-lock mechanics that restrict or unlock NFT transfers based on real-world or on-chain triggers, turning the technical rules of ownership into an artistic constraint. 0xfff has also contributed smart contract development to large-scale generative and sculptural media installations by artist John Gerrard, including his SPIRITS project. Working under the online alias 'shadowy super artist,' 0xfff maintains a deliberately pseudonymous public presence typical of much of the on-chain art community, letting the work and its underlying code speak in place of a personal identity. Their output spans experimental protocol design, generative visual series, and one-off conceptual pieces, and has been featured in curatorial contexts addressing decentralization and digital ownership.
