Digital illustrator and animator whose psychedelic, dreamlike work draws on death, sex and sci-fi, released on SuperRare and OpenSea.
AlienQueen is a digital illustrator and computer animator who lives in the United States and is based in Miami, according to one profile. She works under a pseudonym, and her real name is not public. She grew up as a Cambodian refugee in the United States, and her family's experiences shape how she thinks about love, mortality and connection. Her work draws on psychedelics, dreams, sex and death, and she uses color to carry emotion. She describes a style that is colorful and psychedelic, with characters and objects that blend and morph, and she wants a piece to feel comforting and unsettling at once. Recurring motifs include a girl who stands in for the artist, skulls, aliens and frogs. She often starts a work without a fixed plan and sketches the feeling of the moment, and some pieces take weeks or up to six months to finish. Her work Death (2023) is a 1/1 released on SuperRare about mortality and freedom. Earlier works include Spirit Walking and Murders and Executions, both from 2022. She is also known for her tabz collection on OpenSea and for a collaboration on Snoop Dogg's NFT passport series. She co-founded Art Asylum, a community where artists and collectors share ideas and work together, and she is a founder of two profile-picture projects. For collectors, she is a long-standing artist in the Web3 illustration scene whose work is personal and easy to recognize.
