Biography

Arthr is a UK-based audiovisual artist whose work explores themes of nostalgia, obscurity, and the fading textures of the past. Much of his practice centers on retro technology, most notably his collection A Journey Through Synths, an audiovisual tribute to the synthesizers that shaped decades of electronic music, rendered through detailed digital recreations of vintage drum machines and sound modules such as the TB303, SH101, TR808, and TR909. Beyond these homages to analog sound equipment, Arthr's broader body of work, including series like Transmissions, Arthitecture, and Dissolutions, moves between generative digital imagery and audiovisual composition, often evoking the feeling of half-remembered media and obsolete formats. His conceptual sensibility extends into physical installation as well: at NFC Summit 2026 in Lisbon, Arthr staged an entire booth as a crime scene, using the visual language of forensic documentation to frame the act of collecting itself as something transgressive and irreversible. The digital edition tied to the installation sold out on-site, underscoring the effectiveness of the concept.
