Artist Directory

Lyon-based visual artist working between the physical and the virtual with 3D modeling, digital sculpture and additive fabrication.
Benoit Challand is a visual artist based in Lyon, France. He trained for five years at the Bellecour Art School in Lyon and has worked as an artist since 2009. His work looks at space as a creative sanctuary and at what people leave behind after passing through it. Early on this meant energy, and more recently it means emotion. He works between the physical and the virtual, using 3D modeling, digital sculpture and additive fabrication. His current pieces blur the line between pixel and particle. His work has been covered in Wired, The Times, Le Monde, Elle and IDN, and has been shown at the Musee des Archives nationales and the Musee des Arts decoratifs in Paris. Recent exhibitions include La Vorace (2026, Galerie A+E, Paris), At First Glance (2024, Musee des Arts decoratifs) and Enter the Workcore (2023, Monde Singulier, Paris). He took part in the GLITCH Art and Tech Residency in 2025 and the UTCN Art and Tech Residency in 2026. Confessio opens in Paris in October 2026 and Crystallize in Cluj-Napoca in November 2026. His Behance profile, which he has kept since 2012, shows a long record in art direction, motion graphics and illustration that fed into his current 3D practice. For collectors, he offers a route into sculpture that exists as both a digital file and a printed object.
