Matt DesLauriers
Canadian artist based in the UK working with code, software and generative processes
Biography
Matt DesLauriers, who also works as mattdesl, is a Canadian artist based in the United Kingdom. His practice centres on code, software and generative processes. Alongside his artworks he contributes to open source software, building tools and libraries for creative coding that other artists and developers use in their own work. This mix of artistic practice and tool building is what he is known for among generative artists: the same care goes into the images he produces and the software that makes such images possible for others. At Paris Photo 2026 he is one of five artists in Scenography, the group presentation by Automata in the Digital Sector, which brings together artists who use digital media to build worlds.
