Biography

Neïl Beloufa is a French-Algerian artist born in 1985 in Paris, where he continues to live and work, though his practice has taken him to exhibition spaces around the world. Working across video, sculpture, installation, textiles, and photography, Beloufa creates multi-layered environments that blur the line between fiction and documentary, often incorporating interactive or game-like elements that implicate viewers in the construction of meaning. His work frequently interrogates power dynamics, geopolitics, urbanism, and the mediated nature of contemporary reality, using humor and formal experimentation to avoid didacticism while still engaging serious social questions. Beloufa has built an international reputation through major institutional exhibitions, including a comprehensive survey at Pirelli HangarBicocca in Milan retracing his career through film and video work, as well as presentations at the Venice Biennale and numerous solo shows in Europe and the United States.
