Biography

Serc, also known online as serc1n, is a German digital artist whose work bridges street art, typography, and generative 3D design. Born Sercan, he began drawing bold letterforms as a child, a habit an art teacher soon recognized as graffiti, and by 2004 he was actively painting walls and training alongside established street artists in his region. Over the following years, Serc developed a distinctive visual language built around dramatic, sculptural lettering rooted in urban graffiti culture. Around 2021, he began translating that street typography style into the emerging world of NFTs and blockchain art, and in late 2022 he taught himself 3D design, allowing him to reinterpret his flat, bold letterforms as fluid, undulating digital terrains that create the illusion of three-dimensional motion. Serc is best known as the creator of Normies, a generative onchain pixel art project that has become one of the more recognized community-driven collections in the NFT space, as well as Silhouettes, an algorithmic series inspired by organic human curves and the language of nude photography abstracted into flowing digital lines. His practice merges the raw, rebellious energy of street art with the precision of algorithmic and generative tools, positioning him within a wave of digital artists translating physical urban art traditions into onchain formats. Serc has continued to expand his practice into new experimental territory, including interactive tools and generative applications, while maintaining an active presence within NFT communities through ongoing collections, collaborations, and interviews about his journey from graffiti walls to onchain art.
