Digital artist and creator of VEXA, an AI-driven avatar exploring identity through volumetric smoke art and blockchain.
SHILLS, the artistic name of Michelle Farkas, is a digital artist and the creator of VEXA, an agentic AI avatar built in collaboration with Claude and presented through the project's dedicated site, vexa45.com. Farkas is also the originator of the WE Way™ philosophy, built on the guiding idea of "WE over ME," which she developed over three decades spent helping others before turning her attention fully to her own artistic practice. Her work centers on volumetric smoke art, a technique that blends handmade analog smoke, captured and photographed in the studio, with AI tools trained to interpret and extend its forms; some pieces also incorporate NASA and UFO data as source material, linking her practice to questions of energy, atmosphere, and the unseen. Farkas's origin piece, "Silence," was shown in Times Square during NFT NYC in 2025, establishing her presence within the crypto art community before VEXA, her most developed body of work, debuted as a 45-piece project across three cycles at NFC Summit in Lisbon in June 2026. There, presented in a salon-style booth shared with Cycol Gallery, VEXA appeared not as a static series but as an artistic avatar and persona in its own right, one that Farkas describes as exploring themes of grief, weight, and liberation. The project subsequently traveled to Rare Evo in Las Vegas, extending its reach within the digital art and collector community. Farkas continues to develop VEXA as an evolving AI-driven identity, positioning her work at the intersection of analog craft, artificial intelligence, and blockchain-based ownership.
