Yehwan Song is a Korean-born, New York-based artist, designer, and developer whose practice centers on building independent, non-user-centric internet spaces. Rather than following the smooth, optimized conventions of contemporary web design, Song constructs unconventional and deliberately uncomfortable digital interfaces that resist the overgeneralized, one-size-fits-all logic of mainstream platforms. Her work satirizes and critiques the homogenization of the internet, using idiosyncratic layouts, unexpected interactions, and diverse formal choices to expose how much of the web has been flattened into generic, frictionless experiences.
