Opening: Ashley Zelinskie's "The Weight of Space" solo show at HEFT

FRI, NOV 20, 2026 | 6-9PM

New York City

‍Join us for the opening reception of Ashley Zelinskie's solo exhibition at Heft "The Weight Of Space" from 6-9pm on Friday Nov 20th.

The show engages the impact of national and private space exploration through a series of personal monuments, explosive images, and an interactive portrayal of our occupation of this world's outer space.

These all-new unique works traverse media with marble sculptures, piezography prints, generative software, and more – each expressing the gravity of our obsession with space travel.Ashley Zelinskie will be accompanied at the opening by NASA astronaut Mike Massimino – the subject of a major marble series installed in the show.

‍

This Friday night opening is situated amongst The Whitney's opening of "artport: A History of Internet Art" and we welcome all visitors in town for this show to attend Zelinskie's opening. Her 2025 artport work "Twin Quasar" will also be prominently featured within the Whitney exhibition.

Separately, occupying our east gallery space for Heft Releases, will are also presenting new unique generative works and pen plotter drawings on paper by artist Jeff Davis.

The evening will be the first showing of his project Intervals, and attendees will be invited to collect a live generating digital work from this series at the opening, directly from the artist.

The evening will include drinks and a celebration of Zelinskie and Davis's work, preceded by a press viewing hour from 5:00 - 6:00pm.
