Join 100 collectors for a special edition of Meet the Artist, featuring Justin Aversano in conversation with curator Eleonora Brizi.
Taking place at 60–62 East 11th Street, a historic New York building transformed by Justin Aversano into a seven-floor exhibition titled Enter through the Thrift Shop, this walking artist talk invites participants to discover the works alongside the artist himself.
The location is an integral part of the story. Built in 1895, 60–62 East 11th Street was once home to the Scovill & Adams Company and The Photographic Times, one of America's early photography publications. More than a century later, the building returns to its photographic roots through Aversano's ambitious exploration of image-making, memory, and human connection.
Moving through the exhibition, Justin and Eleonora will explore the ideas and experiences behind Moments of the Unknown, a project developed through a year-long journey across seven continents, bringing together 366 paintings, photography, film, and large-scale moving-image installations. The conversation will touch on life and death, memory, chance, and the invisible connections between people, as well as the relationship between analog and digital forms of image-making.
The exhibition is also a remarkable example of an artist-led initiative, realized independently of traditional gallery and museum structures, thanks to the sustained support of collectors and patrons.
Rather than a traditional exhibition tour, this is an opportunity to experience the artworks through an informal, evolving conversation with the artist, with space for questions and exchanges along the way.
Drinks and light refreshments will be served.
A special gift: 100 collectors members and guests will receive a special gift signed by Justin Aversano.
RSVPs are limited and subject to approval.
