Diane Drubay

Diane Drubay is a pioneering strategist, curator, event producer and speaker who has been transforming the global museum and arts sector since 2007. While still consulting and producing exhibitions and conferences, she dedicates today a large part of her time to the curation of ecology-driven digital art exhibitions.

She has curated and produced exhibitions and projects internationally and often gives presentations at conferences and workshops about a future shaped by art, emerging technologies, and ecology. In 2013, she founded We Are Museums, an innovation lab driving social, ecological, and technological innovation in museums. It led her to collaborate with institutions like the Musée d’Orsay, Smithsonian, Serpentine, and EIT-Climate KIC and key figures like Marina Abramovic.

As a consultant, she has worked with prestigious institutions such as the Palace of Versailles, Claude Monet Foundation, City of Paris, and the Natural History Museum of Paris. She regularly speaks at renowned venues such as Tate, Art Basel, ZKM Karlsruhe, ARKO Art Center Korea, and NFT Paris. She has been producing more than 100 international conferences and workshops, always gathering the best minds of the industry to accelerate change. In August 2024, she launched Blueshift, a curatorial studio exploring ecological digital art practices and how digital art can trigger climate action.

We asked: What guides your eye when you look at a work?

Diane: "When I encounter a new work of art, I first view it through the lens of my own tastes, influences, and cultural background. Then I like to delve deeper to uncover its various layers of narrative, references, and messages. If an artwork speaks to both my emotions and my intellect, and inspires a desire for change or action, it will have my full attention."
