Frieze Week is London's busiest week of the art year. This year it runs October 12–18, anchored by the 24th edition of Frieze London in The Regent's Park (October 14–18), with 171 galleries from 42 countries and a new invitational section, The Code Universe. Frieze Masters is across the park, bringing the combined total to almost 300 galleries from 48 countries. Around both events, the whole city fills in: gallery openings in Mayfair and Marylebone, PAD London in Berkeley Square, and museum shows from Kensington Gardens to Bankside. Here's what to see, split into what's exclusive to 100 collectors members and what's open to everyone.

ART FAIRS IN LONDON

Beyond Frieze London itself, the fair calendar fills out fast. Frieze Masters runs alongside it in The Regent's Park for the same five days. At Somerset House, 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair holds its 14th London edition (October 15–18), adding a new focus on Modernist artists from Africa and the diaspora. PAD London brings historical and contemporary design to Berkeley Square (October 13–18). And Fair Play opens its first edition at One Marylebone (October 15–18), showing around 70 independent artists picked by a selection committee rather than by who can pay for a booth. Here's where to find each.

Across town, the non-profit spaces are worth the detour: Delfina Foundation hosts Mohammad Alfaraj's first institutional solo show in Europe, South London Gallery gives Monika Sosnowska its Main Gallery and Fire Station, and Gasworks presents Paloma Contreras Lomas at the end of her residency. A rundown of what's on where.
