Biography

Amrita Sethi is a UAE-based artist recognized as one of the first NFT artists working in the Emirates. Her practice begins with voice: she translates the sound of spoken word into shapes, and those shapes into finished visual works, treating sound as the raw material of an image rather than an accompaniment to it. Her project Dance of Light, presented at Art Dubai Special Edition 2026 with Art Fungible, extends this approach into real time. A single generated dot, representing the present moment itself rather than standing in as a metaphor for it, moves and shifts in response to a musical composition and to the presence of viewers, producing an ever-changing visual field. The installation layers live generation, sound, prints, video, and painting within a single space, rewarding viewers who linger rather than pass through quickly. Sethi's broader body of work, including her SoundSCAPES series, continues this investigation into how sound, voice, and presence can be rendered visible through generative and AI-assisted tools. Her work has been featured by outlets covering the AI art space and shown at fairs including Art Dubai, positioning her as a distinctive voice at the intersection of sound art and generative practice in the Gulf region's growing digital art scene.
