Erick Calderon, known professionally as Snowfro, is a Mexico City-born, Houston-based entrepreneur, artist, and technology enthusiast who became one of the most influential figures in generative and blockchain-based art. Before entering the crypto art world, Calderon ran a tile business, an unlikely background for someone who would go on to reshape how algorithmic art is created, distributed, and collected on the blockchain. In 2020, he founded Art Blocks, a groundbreaking platform that allows artists to publish generative art scripts directly on the Ethereum blockchain, with each unique output minted on demand at the moment of purchase rather than pre-rendered in advance. This on-demand generative model represented a significant innovation in NFT art, giving collectors a genuine element of chance and giving artists a powerful new medium for programmable creativity.
