Fabin Rasheed

Biography

Fabin Rasheed is an Indian artist, designer, innovator, and technologist based in Dubai who works at the intersection of creativity and emerging technology. His practice, presented under the name Nurecas, spans artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, gesture and voice interfaces, and generative art, exploring themes of society, philosophy, and spirituality through experimental, technically ambitious formats. Rasheed holds a Master's degree in Design from the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad and has worked with innovation labs at Xerox Research, Adobe, and IIT Guwahati, holding more than six patents alongside multiple publications in creativity and technology. His work has been exhibited internationally at venues including the Museum of the Future in Dubai, Ars Electronica, the NeurIPS Creativity Gallery in Vancouver, the Florence Biennale, the Athens Digital Art Festival, Boston Cyberarts, and Singapore Art Week, and has been featured in outlets such as Popular Science, Mashable, and BuzzFeed. In 2015, he was recognized as one of India's top innovators and presented his work before the Vice President of India, and in 2018 he showcased an innovative animated-brush project on the main stage of Adobe MAX. He was a global finalist at the 2021 Aurea Awards for excellence in VR and AR entertainment and was nominated that same year for a Digital Innovation in Arts award. Rasheed serves as an artist council member at the Museum of Cryptoart and is a guest lecturer at institutions including IIT Hyderabad and MIT Institute of Design.
