Biography

Layla Pizarro is a Chilean-born visual artist based in Buenos Aires whose multidisciplinary practice bridges painting, expanded photography, artificial intelligence, and creative code. Her work explores memory, identity, and belonging through the lens of personal migration, bringing together figurative realism and non-representational abstraction within the same body of work. Pizarro often incorporates historical photographic techniques such as gum bichromate and cyanotype printing alongside data-driven generative processes, using both analog craft and machine learning to investigate how landscapes, personal experience, and technology intersect. Her practice treats artificial intelligence not simply as a production tool but as a collaborator capable of surfacing new relationships between fashion, architecture, and art history.
