Biography

MIKEY. Woodbridge is a multidisciplinary artist, performer, and designer originally from Stockton, Australia, now based in Berlin, whose practice spans painting, music, performance, and digital and generative art. Before turning to AI-driven work, Woodbridge built an extensive career as a singer, songwriter, DJ, and nightlife performance artist, an archive of lived experience that would later become the raw material for his most recognized project. Latent Couture (2023) is a collection of 555 AI-generated fashion looks trained entirely on his own personal archive of photographs from years spent as a performer and nightlife icon, producing garments that had never physically existed but that carry the unmistakable visual DNA of his real history. The project brought a distinctly personal, GAN-based sensibility to fashion photography, using technology to imagine new forms of self-presentation rooted in an authentic, lived archive rather than external fashion imagery. Across his broader practice, Woodbridge explores themes of transformation, queer identity, and otherness, often working in collaboration with artistic partners such as Ezra Shibboleth, and has been recognized among prominent queer artists working in Web3. His work has been featured in exhibitions and publications including Berlin Art Week, Aesthetica Magazine, and Kaltblut Magazine.
