Mariam Tafsiri is a British-Iranian economist and illustrator from London, UK. Her artwork draws inspiration from Qajar art, Persian miniature paintings, and Islamic design, celebrating the unique beauty of unibrowed women depicted in Qajar art, a striking contrast to Western ideals. Raised in a culturally rich Iranian household, Mariam’s heritage deeply informs her creative work, while she balances her passion for art with a full-time career as an economist.
